An application may be denied for any of the following reasons:
- We were unable to confirm your identity.
- We were unable to confirm your Maryland residency.
- We were unable to confirm your federal employment.
- We were unable to verify that you were designated as an “excepted” employee due to the federal government shutdown.
If you receive a denial email but believe you are eligible for this loan, you may request a review of this decision by submitting an Appeal Form in your Submittable account. If you do not complete and submit the Appeal Form within 15 business days of the denial notice, the denial will be final unless good cause for the delay can be shown. Appeal Forms will be reviewed within 5 business days, and a final decision on your application will be communicated to you by email.
